about

Third and last album of Asgeir Asgeirsson´s journey with his heritage to the East. This time around he collaborates with Hamid Khansari and some of Tehran´s finest musicians. This cd contains six Icelandic folksongs with extra melodies written by Asgeir and two original compositions. Typical Persian style instrumentation blended with Asgeir´s electric guitar/synth and the amazing voice of Sigríður Thorlacius to give this album a unique vibe. Also feature in Azadi cafe are the amazing Iraninan synger Samin Ghorbani and legendary Icelandic synger Egill Ólafsson.
